The Endurance Advantage

Mar. 18, 2026 7:15 a.m.

On April 29, 2025, Tony Loyd was diagnosed with lung cancer. As a non-smoking endurance athlete, the news was devastating. He knew he had to dig in and find his personal endurance. As a former Fortune 500 executive, he did what he has always done. He turned to the experts. Together with his partner, he scoured peer-reviewed research to discover what it really takes to endure. In September, 25 percent of his lungs were removed. Today, he is on a journey to find out what it takes to get 100 percent from the 75 percent of his lungs that remain.

In this brief talk, Tony shares stories and insights from his journey, connecting endurance to Rotary's values of service and leadership. Participants will be inspired to see endurance in a new light, understand how it works, and walk away with practical ideas they can apply in their lives, their work, their service, and their Rotary club. Curling with Brian
Mar. 21, 2026
Learn to Curl at Frogtown Curling Club!

Please RSVP to brian.kimmes@gmail.com or 651-357-6252 if you are able to attend.

This is a family-friendly event. Kids under the age of 10 or 11 tend to struggle to push out hard enough to get the 44 pound stone all the way down the ice, but they are still welcome to attend to hang out, and they can attempt curling if they would like. This is a great activity for teenagers!

Spectators are also encouraged, so please join us even if sliding on ice isn't your jam.

How Many Mondays Do You Have Left?

Mar. 25, 2026 7:15 a.m.

The secret is out that we are all living on borrowed time, so the question is whether we're stuck on autopilot and going through the motions of our lives, or we're living like we mean it...living lives we'd be proud to look back on without the faintest whiff of regret.  In this interactive talk rooted in the science of positive psychology, we'll talk about how we can be more mindful about living lives we'd love to live, today without a Monday to spare.

Get your Zoom link on our home pageg in the old header area here  https://colrc.org/

Gather at 7:15 a.m., program runs from 7:30-8:30 a.m.
