Our Impact
- $987,329 in individual member giving to the Rotary Foundation
- 106,000 meals delivered to those in need since 2016
- 1,600 pounds of food collected for food shelves since last fall alone
- 13,000+ books donated to advance literacy
- 1,700 holiday gifts to families in need
- 15,000 hats and 15,000 mittens donated to six social service organizations
- 365 yards raked for the elderly and those in need
- $150,000 raised in the annual Minnesota – Iowa Fundraiser, with proceeds going to Polio Plus and Iowa storm damage relief
- $36,500 in the past 3 years for 17 school, hospital and water projects in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, South Sudan, Zimbabwe, India, Madagascar, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Sierra Leone, Uganda, and Honduras $44,000 to help provide a new water system for a Home for the Aged in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa
- $155,000 for the Milla Tres, Honduras community to install a water distribution and water filtration system serving 2,500 residents
- $75,000 for the Mayan Women’s Prosperity Initiative to support and expand community sourced loan cooperatives in remote Guatemalan villages
- Lead club in raising $800,000 in total funds to provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education in 17 rural villages in Western Honduras, immeasurably improving the lives of approximately 6,500 people
- 200+ high profile program speakers at weekly club meetings over the past five years, alone
- In last 2 to 3 years, held over 100 mock interviews with Youth Career Awareness Program (YCAP) students at Dunwoody College of Technology
- Reached 700 high school student to advance awareness of sexual exploitation
- Installed two musical instrument outdoor playgrounds for children and adults
- 3-4 Rooters concerts/performances per year at nursing homes and other venues, such as District Conferences, Rotary International Conference (2005), Twins games (twice), WCCO Morning Show (twice) and other groups over the past 34 years
- 28 foreign exchange students hosted/sponsored since 1986
- Financially enabled 200 students in North Minneapolis to take part in Junior Achievement’s Finance Park and Biz Town financial literacy programs
- Sponsored five students on Cristo Rey High School’s entrepreneurial team for the Junior Achievement’s Company Program.
- $100,000+ in cumulative Dunwoody YCAP Scholarships over the past ten years to fund the education of ten students.
- Awarded 31 Minneapolis City of Lakes Rotary Club John Fischer Rotary Hope Awards to dedicated individuals and organizations providing hope to others in the community
