Top 10 Reasons to Join Minneapolis City of Lakes Rotary Club

Rotary International is the world’s largest service and leadership development organization, with some 1.3 million members in 33,000 clubs within 200 countries around the world. Minneapolis City of Lakes Rotary is a local chapter comprised of business leaders and professionals from many industries.

We’re a vibrant and fun 100+ member club comprised of business owners, consultants, architects, accountants, lawyers, non-profit executives, creatives, retailers, IT professionals and more. We live and work around the metro area but come together every Wednesday morning in downtown Minneapolis for networking, food and fun, and to hear and learn more from fascinating speakers.

We provide countless opportunities to develop new connections and friendships with like-minded business and professional women and men.

Becoming a Minneapolis City of Lakes Rotary member connects you with a diverse group of professionals who share your interests and drive to give back. Why should you consider joining? Here’s our Top 10!

  1. Friendship / Fellowship / Community: In an increasingly complex world, Rotary helps fulfill one of the most basic human needs: the need for friendship and fellowship. It is one of two reasons why Rotary began in 1905.
  2. Networking: Having the opportunity to meet other professionals is the second reason Rotary began. Rotary consists of a cross-section of industries. We help each other and, collectively, help others.
  3. Personal Growth: Membership in Rotary ensures continuing personal development.
  4. Leadership Development: Rotary is an organization of leaders and successful people. You’ll learn new ways to motivate, influence and lead leaders.
  5. Your Club, Your Way. Whatever your interests, you’ll find a way to share with others both through our club and through the many special interest groups available on a global basis.
  6. Knowledge: Each week, our guest speakers share inform and educate us about what is going on in the community, nation and world.
  7. Fun: Club meetings and events are fun and a great way to meet new people.
  8. Global Impact: There are few places in the world that do not have a Rotary club. As a member of our club, you are welcome - and encouraged - to attend any of the 30,000+ clubs in 194 nations and geographical regions.
  9. Public Speaking Skills: Club involvement helps you develop confidence and communication skills.
  10. Opportunity to Serve: This is perhaps the best reason for becoming a Rotarian: the chance to do good.
