Community Service

The Community Service Committee focuses on improving literacy and education, food security, and vibrancy of the Twin Cities.    

 

Key projects and initiatives have included: 

• Hope Award: Presented $92,500 to local nonprofits for their efforts in fostering hope with this annual award.

• Community Forums: Co-sponsored eight annual forums with experts addressing mental health, public safety, climate, political polarization, and other areas of critical concern.

• Education & Literacy: Donated 13,000 books and supported various educational programs and nonprofits.

• Combating Sexual Exploitation: Supported A.C.T. United in educating 3,000 students on sexual exploitation.

• Food Security: Funded 3,500 meals per year and packed 6,000 meals annually for food shelves.

• Clothing & Essentials: Donated 34,000 hats and mittens to social service agencies and 2,000 holiday gifts to families in need.  Donated financial and volunteer assistance to 3000 Acts of Kindness providing hope, help and resources to individuals experiencing homelessness.

• Senior Assistance: Raked 410 yards for seniors and other challenged homeowners.

• Community Enrichment: Built two musical instrument playgrounds and donated solar panels to a Habitat for Humanity home.
