Please register for a one time, two hour food packing event with our community partner Every Meal. The date/time has now been confirmed: Saturday, August 14, from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at Every Meal’s facility in Roseville (2723 Patton Road, Roseville, MN 55113).

We have 12 people so far who have expressed interest in packing on this date, and there is room for 40 volunteers!  Please join us!  You and your family members (anyone over age 8 can participate – sorry no pets or small farm animals!) and Rotarians from other clubs can participate.

To Register:

All adults need to create accounts and register ahead of time

The Event:

Holly Daniels, Every Meal’s Volunteer Coordinator, plans to provide an update to us on Every Meal. We will receive a short orientation on the food packing, and then form assembly lines to pack non-perishable food items into bags that ultimately will be given to the kids in their backpacks this Fall. Click for more details. Please plan to wear closed-toe shoes. Volunteers must wear a mask if not fully vaccinated.

Background on Our Partnership:

Minneapolis City of Lakes Rotary Club has partnered with Every Meal (formerly The Sheridan Story) since 2016 to combat weekend hunger for hundreds of school-age children in Minneapolis. Last year, we partnered with the Burnsville, Minneapolis South and Minneapolis Uptown Rotary clubs to apply for a $10,000 district grant that, along with $6,000 of the three clubs' funds and a third party match, provided $32,000 worth of meals to kids during the pandemic. To give an idea of the impact of that, $250 normally funds one child with food for every weekend during a school year (about 5 meals/weekend for 40 weeks, or 200 meals).

Thanks, and please respond to Jon Hobbs AND register here if you (and your family/friends) will join us.
