On Friday, December 15, volunteers from the Minneapolis City of Lakes Rotary Club (COLRC) packed over 200 special holiday gift bags for clients of the Community Emergency Service (CES) Food Shelf in South Minneapolis.  Volunteers also decorated the food shelf and set out festive party trays loaded with holiday cookies for the party, which took place at 10:00 the following morning.  Despite gentle handling, unfortunately a few of the cookies were broken in the process and had to be eaten for quality control purposes.  Each variety received a “thumbs up” from the group.

COLRC and CES have had a long and special relationship for a couple of decades, with the Club supporting CES both financially and through regularly scheduled work days.  The Club also conducted food drives during the Covid pandemic and delivered thousands of pounds of food to help CES keep operating and supporting the community throughout the emergency.
